For our 40th anniversary, we want to capture 40 stories from past customers, members of Team Marshall, and industry partners. We spoke with Tim Thomas, our wonderful window manager. Tim shares some of his favorite things about being on the team and working within our community. and we’re excited to share what he had to say about working with Marshall.

How long have you worked at Marshall? What was your previous role and what are you doing now?

“I’ve been at Marshall for about 5 years, both as an installer, as a measure tech, and now as a window manager. I was an installer for years before bringing the experience and expertise I’ve gathered here to Marshall. I’ve worked in a lot of different areas of the business, so I can relate to and understand a lot of the people here. No matter what my role has been, my favorite part of my job has been working with all of the great people here at Marshall. It’s great to see everybody working together.”

What do you think makes working at a family company so special?

“Everybody cares about each other and helps each other out. I love seeing that sense of caring for other people, it makes you feel welcome.”

What do you think makes Marshall stand out in this industry?

“They’re caring for both quality and the customer. We pay attention to the customer’s needs and wants and work at it so that we’ve made them happy. Our installers as really the best, they’re professional, they’re high-quality, and they go the extra mile.”

In your own words, what do you think makes a great contractor?

“A great contractor is one who listens to the customer, feels compassion for that customer, and wants to do a quality job to make them a satisfied customer, listens to what their wants are and what we can do to make their dreams come true. That’s what we do really. We follow up and we’re always there if they ever need us.”

What’s one of your favorite memories from being here at Marshall?

“My favorite memory has to be when I transitioned from out in the field full-time to spending more time in the office. At the time I was really nervous because I needed to learn more about the software we use, and I wasn’t very tech savvy. Meg took the time out of her day to help me adjust and learn so I could better use the system. She was so patient with me every day and I really appreciate it. Now, thanks to her, I’m an expert in our software! That’s the kind of teamwork that makes it great to work here.”
